Healthcare and me

I have two jobs. Please don't take this as a complaint, because it is not meant to be. I am blessed that God has made me strong enough to be able to work hard. I am also blessed to be able to have two jobs. There are a lot of people that don't have one. I chose my primary job for a number of reasons. The potential to eventually earn a lot of money, and for the benefits. It is important to me that Charlie and I have access to good healthcare. My second job at Market Street is my security blanket, just in case. I was out of work for 8 months and have an almost paralyzing fear of not having any household income.

I tried to tune in to the debate about health care during the day on Saturday. It made me very anxious and nervous. As soon as I got home after working from 9am to 10 pm, I turned on the TV, only to find out that again, we have been betrayed. Why do these elected officials continue to ignore our wishes? Why do they want to stomp on the constitution and destroy everything that the founding fathers wanted for our country? What gives them the right to order me to follow what they believe is best for my family? Why should they tell me how much I need to spend and how to spend my hard earned money?

I have news for them, they don't. I vow to do everything in my power to preserve my freedom and to fight to end this erosion of my rights and liberty. I promise to stay informed and to tell everyone who will listen to me what is happening to our nation. I can make a difference and I will.
